Update: Heard from the Dr.

The doctor has given us the dates for Tom's tests and reversal of the ileostomy! It is not what he had hoped but that is okay. It is all in God's time. The test will be done on Wednesday, August 19 and then the surgery will be the following Wednesday, August 26th at Centenniel Hospital. We will know more once we have the paperwork in hand but we think the surgery will be a 2 day hospital stay.

Please pray for Tom over the next 2 weeks. This has not been an easy time for him. Getting the ileostomy reversed will take a HUGE burden off of him and all him to get back to a normal life. I know that people live with these everyday but they are placed better in a patient that they know will have to live with it forever. We are dealing with the difficulty of the doctor knowing it would only be temporary and not worrying about where it was placed. It has been a source of a great deal of pain and frustration.

Sometime this month, we will meet with the oncologist again and they will plan the 16 week course of chemo that must follow all of this. Please pray that Tom will be able to get back to work (he misses it so badly) and church (even more badly) and not be hindered much by the next round of chemo. Thank you so much for your prayers! Again, please keep them coming.

We love you all,
Tom & Jan
