Week 2 Update

Week 2 Started out pretty well.  Tom was still running a fever the first couple of days but that seems to have subsided.  Monday, he had an appointment with the radiation oncologist.  He told him what he could expect over the next couple of weeks as far as side effects from the radiation.  Tuesday was a fairly good day but by the time  he got home he was pretty tired and hurting.  Wednesday wasn't a good day and he had to stay home.  I drove with him to his radiation treatment.  Fatigue seems to be the biggest factor but we had been warned of that. The pain is beginning to be a problem also.  THursday night he was very fatigued but ate better than he had in days, pancakes and bacon, his favorite.

Oh the bright side, we are preparing for Layne & Zeke to arrive in about 2 to 3 weeks.  They are in the process of winding things down in Vegas and saying goodbye.  Zeke led worship for the last time at Hope last weekend.  They said goodbye to both of them in all four services.  On Tuesday night at the Shepherd's Rally, Vance and the staff surprised Zeke by ordaining him.  He is the first to be ordained out of Hope Baptist Church.  Again, God is so awesome.  He leads us to help plant a church where our daughter meets her future husband and where he is employed for 8 years and then ordains him into the ministry!  Please pray for them as they make this transition and for their trip.

Keep us in your prayers as we head into week 3.  Obviously, each week will be harder.  Regardless of what my husband says,  he does not have the easy part.  This is really hard on him physically.
